Essential Skin Pathology
Published in Paperback by Mosby (May, 1999)
Average review score:

ExcellentThis book is the abridged form of the larger Skin Pathology book written by McKee. It has excellent ,sharp colour photographs including many close up pictures of the rare entities of dermatopathology. There are short notes below each photo to give succinct point of the disease entity . It is an essential book for any trainee pathologists who is aspiring to be a dermatopathologist and also serve as a useful reference book for the busy pathologists who just want pictures to compare with their routine diagnostic work. Overall, this book is good value for money and I would definitely recommend for trainees' pathologists.

Ethical Issues in College Writing
Published in Paperback by Peter Lang Publishing (November, 1999)
Average review score:

Ethics in the HumanitiesEthical Issues in College Writing is one of the most substantive collections of essays dealing with the complex topic of ethics that I have ever read. All of the essays are informative, articulate, clearly written, and brimming with ideas. It is obvious that the editors chose major scholars for their contributors. Equally impressive is the range of the approaches, from clasical rhetoric to contemporary theory of the rhizoid. I strongly recommend this collection to anyone interested in the role of ethics in the humanities classroom. This book will establish itself as a major influence over the coming decades. As I teacher, I plan to assign some of the readings to my students.

Eusebius (Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers Series 2)
Published in Hardcover by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. (December, 1984)
Average review score:

A must-read volume for serious Christians. This volume collects both Eusebius's history and his two speeches on the life of the Emperor St. Constantine. In order to understand the political views of the Orthodox and the foundation of divine right monarchy, the role of the Church in European and world history, and even God's plan for history, one must read this text. Truly a great work (despite the antiquated English of these translations; I might suggest reading the history in the Penguin edition and the two speeches on St. Constantine here).

The Everett & Monte Cristo Railway
Published in Hardcover by Oso Publishing Company (September, 2000)
Average review score:

A fascinating Northwest railway historyA well-written history, with copious use of photos, about a troubled, audacious railway hacked through a river canyon & miles of timber to reach a hoped-for Mother Lode high up in the rugged Cascade Mtns NE of Seattle-- called Monte Cristo. The dreams of most prospectors never panned out, including one of the key investors back East, John. D. Rockefeller. Ultimately the mines and railway failed, but not before much colorful history occured over the 40 or so years of the railway's existence. One co-author, Phil Woodhouse, wrote an earlier work about the mines & railroad titled "Monte Cristo"--an excellent history. The present work adds new information uncovered over the years since "Monte Cristo's" 1979 (1996 update) publication, as well as many photos (some never published before) of the railway. A very handsome coffee-table size addition to any railroad/mining/historical buff's library.

Every Dreamer's Handbook: A Step-By-Step Guide to Understanding and Benefiting from Your Dreams
Published in Paperback by Kensington Pub Corp (May, 1996)
Average review score:

Every Dreamer's Help Book!I have read this book and have given it to many friends as gifts. It is a book that I will read again and again I am sure. The dreamer's worksheet that is provided has helped me understand MANY dreams more deeply in a simple yet thought provoking way. It is totally user friendly! I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in dreams. It is a great book for anyone with any level of experience with dreams, in my opinion. Will does not shove interpretation down your throat, but rather helps you find your own tools with which to explore your own dream imagery. I have worked with my own dreams and believe his style is an accurate and personal approach, because it based on your OWN meaning, your own exploration.

Exhibiting Authenticity
Published in Paperback by Manchester Univ Pr (March, 1998)
Average review score:

Comprehensive and EnjoyableThere are a number of books on the topic of authenticity, and in my view this is one of the best. Although Phillips focuses on the problems associated with authenticating art in particular, his book raises key issues that are relevant to more general questions about authenticity. The book systematically addresses the authenticity problem from a number of angles, including the question of how to define authenticity in the first place. It also examines the difficulties associated with attributing works of art to particular artists and time periods. Throughout, Phillips illustrates his points using a number of great examples and anecdotes (including from his own experience conserving art). One chapter delves into technical matters associated with dating paintings (i.e., spectrography) but Phillips presents this information as simply as possible and uses it to show that even technical aspects of authentication are open to problems of interpretation. Covers all the bases and is well written.

Exploring Psalms-V1 1-88 Rev
Published in Library Binding by Loizeaux Brothers (01 December, 1999)
Average review score:

Clear chapter outlines and plain commentaryThe Psalms are the most wonderful place in the Bible for the believer to turn in times of distress, confusion, trial and sorrow. The gleaning of its riches will be greatly enhanced by the clear chapter outlines and plain commentary of John Phillips. The two other sets I have found of much profit in my study of the Psalms are C.H. Spurgeon's "Treasury of David," and Dr. Peter S. Ruckman's "The Bible Believer's Commentary Series - The Book of Psalms."

Exploring Revelation
Published in Unknown Binding by Moody Press ()
Average review score:

This is the richest I have read on Revelation, a must for alThis is rich and full of nuggets not found in most books on Revelation. There are no far out interpretations or predictions. After reading it I felt there was almost no need to read any others it was so satisfying and informative. Phillips brings in so many verses relating to each passage that is opens up the meaning in a very clear manner. He makes very rich applications to every day life. His outlines are fantastic. You can sense there has been much study gone intio the book and much wisdom given him. After reading at least a score of books on Revelation and teaching it myself, I find this book the most definitive work I have read. It not only informs you but will transform you as you study it

Exploring Romans
Published in Hardcover by Moody Press (01 January, 1971)
Average review score:

How to be saved...here is the answerThe book of Romans is the essential book of the Bible dealing with salvation through justification by faith (yes, I know the Bible teaches it consistently, but Romans is unbeatable for its clarity). H.A. Ironside addresses the book of Romans and explains each step in its historical and theological context (remember to compare spiritual things with spiritual) and lays out God's plan of soteriology in all of its granduer and glory. This is a foundation book for all new believers. A classic.-Kelly Whiting

Exploring the Future
Published in Hardcover by Thomas Nelson (June, 1983)
Average review score:

A Rigorous Examination of the Bible'sGreat Prophetic ThemesJohn Phillips provides great insight into some of the most difficult prophetic and eschatological passages of the scriptures. I have never before read a work of such clarity that brings together many of the threads of prophesy running throughout the old and new testaments.
This is a must read for any christian looking to understand and be prepared for the events that will soon take place.
